Leinster Rally to Beat Leicester 23-15 in Champions Cup at Welford Road
Leinster secured a 23-15 victory over Leicester in the Champions Cup at Mattioli Woods Welford Road on 12 December 2025. Despite early setbacks including the loss of Tadhg Furlong before kickoff and Jack Conan leaving the field within three minutes for a head injury assessment, followed by Jimmy O’Brien departing with a leg issue, Leinster managed to overturn a halftime deficit.
An early Leinster try was disallowed after the TMO ruled Robbie Henshaw had started from an offside position. Leicester led 15-6 at halftime, with tries from Adam Radwan and Ollie Hassell-Collins and a missed 40m penalty by Billy Searle late in the half.
In the second half, Leinster mounted a strong comeback. Jamison Gibson-Park scored a try from a turnover, Harry Byrne added a penalty to take a one-point lead, and Dan Sheehan sealed the win with a converted try following a lineout drive. Byrne finished with a conversion and three penalties, while Sam Prendergast converted the other Leinster try. Billy Searle contributed one penalty and one conversion for Leicester.
Leinster’s victory left Leicester pointless after two Champions Cup fixtures.
