Lindsay Fraser Named Chief Policy Officer at Blockchain Association
Lindsay Fraser has been appointed as the chief policy officer at the Blockchain Association (BA), starting December 8. Fraser previously worked on decentralized finance (DeFi) policy at Uniswap Labs and will now lead policy operations for the BA's 146 member companies. Her background in DeFi policy is expected to inform broader policy initiatives for the association.
Under the leadership of Summer Mersinger, a former CFTC commissioner, the BA has grown by 58 member companies this year, bringing its total membership to 146. The association is prioritizing near-term legislative action from Congress on a market structure bill for digital asset markets, focusing on the implementation of stablecoin law and cryptocurrency tax policy.
Fraser emphasized the importance of the BA being a trusted partner and voice in crypto policy, aiming to build a durable coalition that can work across different administrations and market cycles. The BA will host its annual policy summit in Washington on the day Fraser begins her role, featuring speakers such as SEC Chair Paul Atkins, OCC Comptroller Jonathan Gould, and Senate Majority Leader John Thune.
This appointment aligns with the industry's ongoing efforts to achieve regulatory clarity for DeFi and digital asset markets.
