Mito Pereira, a LIV Golf player from Chile, announced his retirement from professional golf on December 22, 2025, at the age of 30. Pereira plans to return to Chile and focus on his personal life, stepping away from the constant travel that his career demanded.
He joined LIV Golf in 2023, playing for Torque GC alongside Joaquin Niemann. Throughout his career, Pereira won three Korn Ferry Tour events and eight tournaments on the Chilean Tour. His notable major results include tying for third place at the 2022 PGA Championship and tying for third in the Tokyo Olympics, narrowly missing a bronze medal in a playoff.
In a statement on Instagram, Pereira expressed gratitude to his family, friends, manager, coach, team, sponsors, and fans. He noted he is well and proud of his accomplishments and is looking forward to starting a new chapter. He emphasized that Chile is his place in the world, and his family is his reason for being.
