Liz Truss Launches YouTube Show Backed by MAGA Allies
Former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss has launched a new YouTube program called The Liz Truss Show, pledging to expose what she describes as an 'international network of leftists' and to promote a Trump-style revolution in Britain. In its first week, the show garnered approximately 10,000 subscribers and 67,000 views.
The project is supported by John Solomon of Just the News, which will host Truss’s podcast series. Truss’s alignment with the US conservative media and MAGA ecosystem is evident, having already interviewed figure Steve Bannon and maintaining connections with Real America's Voice.
John Solomon, a prominent MAGA figure despite previous criticism over his Ukraine-related reporting and a retraction from The Hill, plays a key media role. His Informing America Foundation funds Just the News and other similar outlets, collectively reaching over 120 million Americans monthly, though Solomon holds no formal role at the foundation.
Truss is advised by Joseph Robertson, a member of the Reform party, known for advocating deregulation, warning against 'communist rule' associated with digital ID systems, and promoting a vision of Britain modeled as 'Dubai on Thames.'
Analysts have cautioned that Truss's charismatic qualities could influence the reception of her new media venture. While some criticize her performance, others note that the MAGA ecosystem has the capacity to foster political comeback stories.
