Luke Littler and Gian van Veen Reach PDC World Championship Final
Luke Littler defeated Ryan Searle 6-1 in the PDC World Championship semi-final, averaging 105.4, winning 20 of 28 legs and posting a >100 average in every set. Littler’s victory secured his place in his third world championship final in three attempts; he is World No 1 and has won six major titles in the last 12 months.
In the other semi-final, Gian van Veen came from behind to beat Gary Anderson 6-3 after trailing 1-4. Anderson posted a 103 average with 14 maximums and 46% on doubles, but van Veen showed resilience under pressure and strong doubling. The fifth set featured back-to-back 170 finishes and was clinched by van Veen in 15 darts in a dramatic sequence.
Van Veen’s performance was praised for his poise in key moments, and the match was described as a great world championship semi-final.
The final is scheduled for Saturday night, where Littler will face van Veen for the title.
