Luke Littler Retains PDC World Championship with Dominant Victory
Luke Littler, 18, successfully retained the PDC World Championship title on 3 January 2026 by defeating Gian van Veen 7-1 in a one-sided final at Alexandra Palace. Littler posted an impressive 106 three-dart average during the match, underlining his dominance throughout the tournament.
With this victory, Littler became the fourth player to retain a PDC world title, joining the ranks of Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, and Gary Anderson. Despite initial boos from the crowd after defeating Rob Cross, the atmosphere shifted in his favor as fans showed support for the reigning world champion.
Following his win, Littler signaled his ambition to win more titles and potentially rival Phil Taylor's record of 16 world championships. He suggested that he has about 14 more titles to win and a 15 to 16 year timescale, stating that he will be around for a very long time and is "here to win."
