Major Disruption in Channel Tunnel Due to Power Supply Issue
On 30 December 2025, a power supply issue caused significant disruption in the Channel Tunnel. Eurostar urged passengers to postpone travel as a result.
Le Shuttle services at Folkestone and Calais were suspended due to the issue, leading to delays of around 3.5 hours at Folkestone and approximately 3 hours at Calais.
Multiple Eurostar routes, including London St Pancras to Paris, Lille, Brussels, and Amsterdam, were delayed or cancelled, with at least a dozen services cancelled entirely.
National Rail reported that major disruption was expected to continue until the end of the day.
Eurostar offered free rearrangements, refunds, or e-vouchers for affected bookings and advised passengers to check the status of their services and not to travel without a valid ticket.
Eurostar and Le Shuttle teams worked throughout the day to resolve the power supply issues.
