On 24 December 2025, a man at Bar Beach in Newcastle, New South Wales, displayed Nazi hate symbols through tattoos visible to his children and others. The tattoos included a large white power symbol on his calf and the Schutzstaffel (SS) logo near his ankle.

Witness Ben Parsons photographed these tattoos and reported the incident to Crime Stoppers. Subsequently, the NSW Police and Operation Shelter, a taskforce addressing antisemitic incidents, were informed.

The man allegedly left the beach after displaying the tattoos and making a white power hand signal while accompanied by another woman and children.

On 27 December 2025, detectives from Coffs Harbour arrested a 36-year-old man at a home in Urunga. He was charged with knowingly displaying a Nazi symbol by a public act without excuse and causing a prohibited Nazi symbol to be displayed in a public place.

The man was granted strict conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Newcastle Local Court on 22 January 2026.
