Manchester City Leads Race for Antoine Semenyo Amid Interest from Premier League Clubs
Manchester City is currently in pole position to sign Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, although no formal agreement has yet been reached. Semenyo's release clause stands at £65 million, which is active during the first two weeks of January and comprises £60 million fixed plus £5 million in add-ons. Chelsea initially explored terms and wage demands for Semenyo but have since withdrawn their interest, leaving other clubs to pursue negotiations.
Liverpool and Manchester United have also shown interest in the forward. Reports indicate that Semenyo prefers a move to Manchester City. Liverpool, who had been tracking Semenyo for some time, may renew their pursuit following an injury to forward Alexander Isak. Semenyo has rejected interest from Tottenham.
Currently, Semenyo has scored eight Premier League goals and contributed three assists this season. Bournemouth, who signed him from Bristol City two years ago, are keen to retain him but remain open to selling if a suitable offer arises, according to their coach Andoni Iraola.
