Mexican Authorities Seize $40 Million in Motorcycles Linked to FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Ryan James Wedding
In December, Mexican authorities executed multiple search warrants and seized motorcycles valued at about $40 million believed to be owned by Ryan James Wedding, who is on the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. Wedding, 44, is a former Canadian Olympic snowboarder who competed in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, participating in the men's parallel giant slalom event, which was his only Olympic appearance.
Wedding and 14 associates are allegedly involved in orchestrating the January 2025 murder of a restaurant witness in Colombia. U.S. authorities accuse Wedding of running a transnational cocaine trafficking operation that moves drugs through Colombia and Mexico to the United States and Canada, using cryptocurrency to conceal his wealth.
The FBI states that Wedding has ordered dozens of murders across North America and Latin America. FBI Director Kash Patel described him as a dangerous, violent drug kingpin, comparing him to notorious figures such as Pablo Escobar and El Chapo.
The U.S. government has increased the reward for information leading to Wedding's arrest and/or conviction to $15 million.
