In October 2025, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) conducted a major raid in Northampton, seizing more than 2,000 unlicensed pens of retatrutide and tirzepatide. The haul also included tens of thousands of empty pens, raw ingredients, packaging materials, and approximately £20,000 in cash. The seizure has been described as one of the largest involving trafficked weight-loss drugs to date.

The raid is connected to Alluvi Healthcare Limited, a company that continues to sell unlicensed replicas of these experimental drugs through Telegram channels and its website as of December 5, 2025. One Telegram channel linked to Alluvi has nearly 3,000 subscribers, with posts indicating that stock remained available even after the MHRA action.

Retatrutide is currently an experimental drug that has not completed clinical trials or received approval for use. Selling it directly to consumers is illegal, yet counterfeit versions are actively promoted on social media platforms. Alluvi has been identified as a key seller in this illicit market.

Despite the scale of the seizure, no arrests had been reported in connection with the MHRA raid by early December 2025. Payment for Alluvi's products appears to be funneled through companies such as Nutri Collectiv and processed by Stripe, with transactions disguised as fitness-program purchases to circumvent enforcement efforts.

Experts have issued warnings regarding the storage of weight-loss injections during winter, noting that exposure to extreme cold can damage the protein structure of these drugs. Improper storage may also increase risks of infections, pancreatitis, or cardiovascular problems for consumers.

Requests for comment from Alluvi Healthcare were not answered by the time of reporting.
