Mikaela Shiffrin Secures Sixth Straight World Cup Slalom Victory in Semmering
Mikaela Shiffrin won the women's World Cup slalom in Semmering, Austria on 28 December 2025, marking her sixth consecutive World Cup slalom victory. Shiffrin overcame a slow first run to deliver the fastest second run despite deteriorating snow conditions, ultimately finishing 0.09 seconds ahead of Camille Rast.
Lara Colturi of Albania took third place, finishing 0.57 seconds behind Shiffrin. Following this race, Shiffrin accumulated 500 World Cup slalom points from five races, holding a 220-point lead over second-placed Colturi. In the overall standings, Shiffrin leads with 698 points, 195 points ahead of Rast.
This win continues Shiffrin's dominance throughout the season, building on her victory in last year’s season-ender and wins in the first four races of the current campaign. The race took place under lights in Semmering, and Shiffrin described the day as challenging, with tough conditions and a fierce competition.
