Mike Tyson Praises Trump's Cannabis Executive Order, Predicts Creation of 500,000 New Jobs
Mike Tyson praised President Trump's executive order on cannabis, highlighting its potential to create more than 500,000 new jobs. The order reclassified marijuana from a Schedule I to a Schedule III drug under the DEA, placing it among substances with moderate to low dependence potential.
This rescheduling is intended to ease restrictions on purchasing and selling marijuana and to facilitate further research into its medical benefits. Tyson also called for clemency for individuals convicted of nonviolent marijuana offenses and advocated for federal legalization as the next step.
Tyson has previously led a coalition of athletes, including Kevin Durant, Dez Bryant, and Antonio Brown, who lobbied for federal cannabis reform. Despite his support for the executive order, Tyson noted his longtime friendship with Trump, stating that Trump does not smoke marijuana and that he would not invite him to smoke together.
