Ador, the South Korean entertainment label under Hybe which manages the popular K-pop group NewJeans, has filed a lawsuit against Danielle Marsh seeking nearly 43.1 billion won (approximately US$30 million). The lawsuit includes damages and penalties related to contract termination. Ador has also named an unnamed family member and Min Hee-jin in connection with Danielle's departure from the group.

Danielle Marsh, a 20-year-old Australian-born artist, had her contract terminated by Ador in late December 2025. The label stated she can no longer continue as an artist under their management. Ador alleges that Danielle and the other named parties were significantly responsible for causing the dispute that led to NewJeans’ departure and the delayed return of the group.

The conflict began when NewJeans announced in November 2024 that they would leave Ador. Following this announcement, Ador sought and obtained an injunction in March 2025 barring the members from engaging in commercial activities. Despite the tension, three of the group's four remaining members have reportedly decided to remain with Ador, while one member, Minji, is currently in negotiations with the company.

Previously, a Seoul district court ruled that all five members of NewJeans must honor their contracts with Ador, which are set to last until 2029. Meanwhile, in October 2025, Hanni Pham, another member of NewJeans, testified to South Korea’s parliament regarding alleged mistreatment by the label. At the same time, the employment ministry dismissed a bullying complaint on the grounds that the members were not legally employees of Ador.

Hybe, the parent company of Ador and also the company behind BTS, remains closely involved as the dispute continues to unfold.
