NFL Teams Eyeing Joe Burrow Should Prepare for High Trade Price Tag, Report Says
NFL teams could pursue Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow this offseason, with multiple teams reportedly interested, according to CBS Sports and NFL insider Jonathan Jones.
Any potential trade for Burrow would require a very large draft-pick haul, described as a "Ricky Williams-type" package. The Williams trade involved six draft selections plus a first-round pick and a third-round pick sent to Washington, setting a benchmark for Burrow's potential trade value.
Executives have suggested a starting point of at least two first-round picks, with the possibility of more picks if no players are involved in the deal.
Burrow himself stated he cannot foresee leaving Cincinnati before 2026, though his later comments about playing for another team were vague. He signed a $275 million contract with the Bengals in 2023, which includes a no-trade clause through 2029.
The Bengals are currently outside the playoffs for the third consecutive season in 2025. Their upcoming games include hosting the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17 and finishing the season at Cleveland in Week 18.
