Nikola Jokić Makes NBA History with Triple-Double in Nuggets' Overtime Win Against Timberwolves
Nikola Jokić posted a historic 56-point, 16-rebound, 15-assist triple-double on December 25, 2025, becoming the first player in NBA history to record at least 55 points, 15 rebounds, and 15 assists in a single game.
Jokić scored 18 points in overtime, setting a new NBA record for most points scored in an overtime period.
The Denver Nuggets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 142-138 in overtime at Ball Arena.
Despite missing three regular starters due to injury, the Nuggets secured the win.
Minnesota's Anthony Edwards sparked a late fourth-quarter comeback, hitting a twisting three-pointer with 1.1 seconds remaining to force overtime, but was ejected after receiving two technical fouls in overtime.
By the third quarter, Jokić had amassed 179 career triple-doubles, placing him two behind Oscar Robertson for the second-most in NBA history.
With the victory, Denver improved their record to 22-8 and will face the Orlando Magic at home on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
