Patriots Stars Stefon Diggs and Christian Barmore Face Criminal Allegations
Stefon Diggs and Christian Barmore, both players for the New England Patriots, are currently facing criminal allegations and have declined to answer questions from reporters regarding their legal troubles while in the team locker room.
Diggs is accused of assaulting a private chef during a money dispute. Police reports describe incidents including strangling and slapping; however, Diggs’ defense has denied these claims, stating that the allegations are unsubstantiated and rooted in a prior employer–employee dispute. His attorney, David Meier, categorically denies all allegations and suggests they are motivated by unresolved financial disagreements.
Meanwhile, Barmore faces accusations of domestic assault and battery after his girlfriend was allegedly thrown to the ground. Reports further allege he grabbed the victim’s phone, threw her down, and threatened her. Barmore’s attorney has released a statement expressing confidence that evidence will demonstrate no criminal conduct occurred and that the matter will be resolved soon.
The NFL has announced that both Diggs and Barmore remain eligible to play in the upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins. They may be considered for placement on the Commissioner Exempt List once formal charges are filed.
Patriots coach Mike Vrabel addressed the situation, describing the allegations as distractions. He emphasized that the team will maintain focus on the forthcoming game while allowing the due legal process to unfold.
