In his comeback game in Seattle, Rivers completed 18 of 26 passes for 120 yards, recording a touchdown and an interception, with a passer rating of 91.8. A notable 16-yard third-and-seven completion to Alec Pierce set up Blake Grupe's 60-yard field goal attempt that almost won the game. Rivers' performance was described as unprecedented in NFL history for a 44-year-old returning after such a long layoff, highlighting the importance of football intelligence as physical ability declines.
