Police End Investigation into Bob Vylan's Glastonbury Chants
Bob Vylan frontman Pascal Robinson-Foster, also known as Bobby Vylan, led chants of 'death to the IDF' during Glastonbury's West Holts stage performance in June 2025. Following this, Avon and Somerset Police conducted an inquiry but announced on 23 December 2025 that there was insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction and thus no further action will be taken.
A man in his mid-30s was interviewed under caution regarding the comments but was not formally arrested. Police had shared initial enquiries with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in July, seeking legal advice on multiple offences. The CPS stated they were not asked to make charging decisions and found insufficient evidence for conviction.
Separately, the Metropolitan Police closed an inquiry into Bob Vylan's May gig at Alexandra Palace after advice from the CPS.
The BBC received complaints over streaming the Glastonbury performance, which were partly upheld in September 2025. Authorities have emphasized that the comments drew widespread anger and noted that words can have real-world consequences.
