Poundland Announces Closure of 14 More Stores as Part of Wider Restructuring
Poundland has confirmed that 14 additional stores will close by early February as part of a restructuring plan led by new owners Gordon Brothers. This brings the total number of closures to more than 100 by early 2026.
By the end of September, 57 Poundland shops had already shut, with a further 40 shops announced as clearing out ahead of closure. The company was sold for £1 to Gordon Brothers in June and managed to avoid administration after a High Court-approved restructuring plan in August.
As part of its simplification efforts, Poundland is returning to a three-price structure (£1, £2, £3) across all UK stores.
Among the specific locations and closure dates listed are Lancaster (19 December), Northampton Sixfields (31 December), Weston-Super-Mare (24 December), and Hammersmith (24 December). Additional closures are scheduled from December 2025 to January 2026 across multiple towns including Christchurch Meteor Retail Park, Arnold, Worthing, Droitwich, Ballymena, Oldham, Weston Favell, Portishead, Grantham, Portadown, Farnham, and Brighton.
