Private Plane Crash Kills NASCAR Driver Greg Biffle and Family in North Carolina
A private Cessna C550 jet carrying NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina Grossu Biffle, their son Ryder, their daughter Emma, and others crashed at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina, killing seven people.
The deceased include Greg Biffle, Cristina Grossu Biffle, their son Ryder, their daughter Emma, Dennis Dutton, Dennis’ son Jack, and Craig Wadsworth.
Prior to the crash, Cristina Grossu Biffle sent a text message to her mother from the plane indicating that they were in trouble.
The plane had departed and was en route to Sarasota, Florida, before planning to continue to the Bahamas for a birthday trip. It turned back toward the airport while attempting to land when it crashed.
At the time of reporting, the cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
The families of the victims released a joint statement requesting privacy and expressing devastation, emphasizing their focus on honoring their loved ones.
