Pudgy Penguins Launches Major Holiday Ad Campaign at the Las Vegas Sphere
Pudgy Penguins will run an advertising campaign at the Las Vegas Sphere during Christmas week, featuring multiple animated segments airing for several days starting December 24. The campaign budget is approximately $500,000. The Las Vegas Sphere is a high-profile LED venue known for hosting top acts like U2 and the Eagles, but crypto brands have rarely secured ad space there.
Launched on Ethereum in 2021, Pudgy Penguins has grown beyond its NFT collection to include physical toys and a browser-based game called Pudgy World. Earlier this year, the project briefly overtook the Bored Ape floor price. It also launched a PENGU token on the Solana blockchain, which is listed on major exchanges including Coinbase and Robinhood.
Despite this growth, the PENGU token has declined about 80% over the past year and approximately 74% from its all-time high of $0.042 recorded in July. Notably, the most popular Pudgy Penguin NFT was sold in August 2022 for 400 ETH, valued then at about $650,000; at current ETH prices around $3,086, it would now be worth over $1.2 million.
Vedant Mangaldas, Pudgy Penguins’ chief of strategy and brand, emphasized that the campaign deal was possible because the project has a real business foundation and can reach everyday consumers beyond just the crypto community. Under new leadership, Pudgy Penguins has broadened its focus to include consumer-facing products and experiences beyond the original NFT collection.
