Redactions in Epstein Documents Undone, Revealing Allegations and Financial Details
Un-redacted text from Epstein documents is circulating on social media after hacks enabled users to undo redactions. One exhibit in a Virgin Islands civil case against Darren K. Indyke and Richard D. Kahn contains previously redacted allegations that Jeffrey Epstein and associates facilitated child sexual abuse.
Section 85 redactions revealed financial transactions showing Indyke signed for over $400,000 to young female models and actresses, including a former Russian model receiving more than $380,000 through monthly payments of about $8,333 for over three and a half years, ending around mid-2019.
The Virgin Islands civil sex-trafficking case against Epstein’s estate, Indyke, and Kahn was settled in 2022 for $105 million plus half of the sale proceeds from Little St James. The Department of Justice (DoJ) press release stated there was no admission of liability. Indyke, Epstein’s longtime attorney, has not faced criminal indictment. In 2022, he was hired by Parlatore Law Group, a firm representing Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and previously Donald Trump in his classified-documents matter.
The recently signed Epstein Files Transparency Act allows the DoJ to withhold victims' personal information and materials that might jeopardize active federal investigations. It remains unclear how the redactions related to property met this standard, and the DoJ did not respond to inquiries on this matter.
Other redacted passages allege the Epstein enterprise concealed crimes by paying participant-witnesses’ legal fees and case costs, threatening victims, and instructing witnesses to destroy evidence.
Redactions numbered 184 to 192 discuss property taxes paid by Epstein-related companies, revealing details such as a Cypress Balance Sheet showing cash of about $18,824 and Santa Fe property tax payments of $106,394.60 in 2018, with 2017 taxes including amounts of $55,770.41 and $113,679.56.
Requests for comments from Indyke and the Parlatore Group were not returned. Throughout, Donald Trump has repeatedly denied knowledge of or involvement in Epstein’s crimes, providing important context to the story.
