Rep. Al Green Files Articles to Impeach President Trump, Forces House Vote
Rep. Al Green filed two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump and will force House floor votes within two legislative days, as the resolution is privileged. This marks Green's fifth impeachment filing against Trump this year but is his first move to compel a vote.
The charges accuse Trump of calling for the execution of six Democratic lawmakers and threatening violence against judges, tied to his reaction to Democrats urging the military to refuse illegal orders. Green described Trump as an abuser of presidential power who would undermine democracy and potentially dissolve the Republic if allowed to remain in office.
Additionally, Democrats filed impeachment articles this week against HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and War Secretary Pete Hegseth. Rep. Haley Stevens announced the Kennedy filing, while Rep. Shri Thanedar criticized Hegseth, citing reports of orders to kill people on a vessel involved in drug trafficking, and filed impeachment actions against him.
