Ricardo Pietreczko Edges Out Dave Chisnall in PDC World Darts Championship
Ricardo Pietreczko defeated Dave Chisnall 3-2 in a closely contested match at the PDC World Darts Championship held at Alexandra Palace. Despite Chisnall hitting eleven 180s during the game, he missed a crucial match-dart double 16 for a 143 checkout in the final moments. Pietreczko, who did not hit any 180s, maintained an average score of 88.58 compared to Chisnall's 88.15.
Pietreczko started strong by winning the first two sets. Chisnall rallied to level the match, but Pietreczko clinched victory by taking three consecutive legs in the final stretch. This defeat results in the elimination of Chisnall, who was seeded No. 21, from the tournament.
In other tournament results, 28-year-old Japanese qualifier Motomu Sakai lost 3-2 to Andreas Harrysson after previously defeating Thibault Tricole 3-0. Additionally, Ryan Searle triumphed over Brendan Dolan 3-0, and James Hurrell upset Dirk van Duijvenbode 3-2, potentially setting up a next-round encounter with Stephen Bunting.
