Russell Westbrook Becomes NBA's All-Time Leading Scorer Among Point Guards
Russell Westbrook, 37, currently playing for the Sacramento Kings, has made NBA history by becoming the all-time leading scorer among point guards. He surpassed the previous record held by Oscar Robertson on January 2, 2026, during a game against the Phoenix Suns. Despite the Kings' 129-102 loss, Westbrook set the milestone with a driving layup in the fourth quarter, bringing his career point total to 26,711.
In the same game, Westbrook contributed 17 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. Last month, he also surpassed Magic Johnson to move into seventh place on the NBA's all-time assists list. Throughout his career, Westbrook has been the NBA's leader in triple-doubles and has played 11 seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, as well as stints with the Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets, Wizards, and Rockets before joining the Kings.
