Satirists and South Park Creator Target Trump Kennedy Center Domain Amid Controversy
Toby Morton, a writer and producer for South Park, purchased the domain trumpkennedycenter.org in August with the intent of creating a blunt reflection of political power through his work. The site currently advertises a show by the “Epstein dancers,” instead of the Kennedy Center’s actual schedule. Morton describes this domain project as a form of performance art designed to expose power.
Meanwhile, the Kennedy Center itself has reportedly altered rules ahead of a vote to rename the institution as the Trump Kennedy Center, with former President Trump as chair and loyalists on the board. This name-change effort has generated turbulence, with performers withdrawing from concerts and legal challenges mounting.
In a parallel effort, a group of British satirists acquired the domain trump-kennedycenter.org and have been promoting their own satire, including shows linked to Epstein themes. Despite these satirical sites, the real Kennedy Center website remains kennedy-center.org, though some coverage has referred to the institution as the Trump Kennedy Center.
South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have also commented on Trump’s pervasive influence, noting that politics has become inseparable from pop culture and that his impact was unavoidable in their work.
