Sherrone Moore Arrested Following Michigan Football Coaching Firing
Sherrone Moore, the former head coach of the Michigan Wolverines football team, was arrested after being fired by the university. A booking photo released on December 18, 2025, shows Moore with red eyes and a downcast appearance at the Washtenaw County Jail.
Moore faces a felony home invasion charge in the third degree, along with two misdemeanor counts of stalking and breaking and entering without the owner’s permission. His bond has been set at $25,000, with conditions including no contact with the alleged victim. Moore entered a not-guilty plea and is scheduled to appear in court again on January 22, 2026.
Prosecutors allege that Moore had a long-running intimate relationship with a Michigan staffer who reportedly ended their relationship two days before his arrest. Following the breakup, Moore allegedly contacted her and entered her home without permission. Officials state he threatened self-harm and made statements such as "My blood is on your hands" and "You ruined my life."
Moore appeared via video in Washtenaw County court on December 12, 2025. His firing as head coach preceded the arrest. He had become Michigan's head coach after Jim Harbaugh left to join the Los Angeles Chargers.
