SpaceX Moves Over $94 Million in Bitcoin Ahead of Potential 2026 IPO
SpaceX moved more than $94 million in Bitcoin on Wednesday, according to on-chain data, in the lead-up to reported plans for an IPO in 2026. Arkham Intelligence identified that SpaceX Bitcoin addresses transferred about 1,021 BTC to two addresses, split as 407 BTC and 614 BTC.
Arkham also noted that SpaceX has been moving approximately $100 million worth of BTC each week for the past two months. Bloomberg reports that the IPO could raise over $30 billion at a valuation of $1.5 trillion, though it remains unclear whether the Bitcoin transfers are related to the IPO. SpaceX did not respond to requests for comment.
These regular Bitcoin transfers began earlier this year after SpaceX had held its BTC untouched for three years. The latest transfers follow a similar move of around $100 million in BTC just the previous week. In 2022, SpaceX reportedly held as many as 25,000 BTC, but its holdings have since declined.
As of Wednesday, SpaceX holds 8,285 BTC, valued at about $770 million according to BitcoinTreasuries.net. This amount would make SpaceX the fourth-largest private company Bitcoin holding and place it as the 14th largest if it goes public and maintains its position.
