Steelers Star TJ Watt Hospitalized with Lung Discomfort Ahead of Monday's Game
Pittsburgh Steelers star linebacker TJ Watt was hospitalized after experiencing lung discomfort and did not practice on Thursday, putting his status for Monday night's game against the Miami Dolphins in question.
The Steelers have not provided a detailed update, with head coach Mike Tomlin expected to share more information at the appropriate time.
Watt, 31, has started every game this season and remains a key defensive player. Over 13 games this year, he has recorded seven sacks, three forced fumbles, and 53 total tackles. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl for seven consecutive seasons.
Highlighting his career, Watt was the 2021 Defensive Player of the Year with 22.5 sacks and currently holds 115 sacks and 36 forced fumbles across 134 games.
The Steelers recently moved into sole possession of the AFC North lead following a 27-22 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Their record now stands at 7-6 as they continue to contend for a playoff spot.
The Dolphins, with a 6-7 record, have won four straight games and are also in wild-card contention but cannot mathematically surpass the 11-2 New England Patriots for the AFC East title.
The Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Miami Dolphins game is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday.
