Tassat Group has received a U.S. patent for its on-chain 'yield-in-transit' (YIT) technology, which enables intraday interest accrual and distribution during 24/7 settlement periods. This technology covers continuous interest accrual on-chain up until the moment ownership changes, aiming to eliminate ambiguity about who earns yield and when.

YIT is foundational to Lynq, an institutional settlement network launched in July 2025. Lynq is supported by partners such as Arca Labs and tZERO Group and backed by entities including U.S. Bank, Avalanche, B2C2, Crypto.com, Fireblocks, Galaxy, FalconX, and Wintermute. More than 50 institutions are onboarding to Lynq to settle tokenized real-world assets, stablecoins, and crypto markets.

Glen Sussman, CEO of Tassat, stated that the patent reflects ongoing innovation in enterprise-grade settlement infrastructure and enables intraday yield accrual for assets during settlement. Tassat argues that YIT could improve capital allocation and on-chain liquidity for market makers, custodians, and stablecoin issuers by allowing yield to accrue during asset transfers.

The patent was publicly announced on December 9, 2025.
