Trump Claims Credit for "Perhaps Greatest Economy Ever" in U.S. History

He claimed that 13 months earlier he had inherited a mess from the Biden administration characterized by the worst inflation and high prices. Trump stated that prices are now down, and the stock market is at an all-time high. He also asserted that energy, oil, and gasoline were at five-year lows, tariffs were generating hundreds of billions of dollars, and that the U.S. was more respected internationally.
Trump mentioned that he began his second term on January 20, 2025, and in an interview with Politico, he rated the economy as A+++++. However, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized Trump's claims, calling them insulting and stating that affordability cannot be misrepresented by the president.
