Trump Claims US Struck Large Facility in Venezuela Amid Unconfirmed Reports
Former President Trump claimed that the US struck a large facility in Venezuela last week but did not specify the exact location or nature of the target. The White House has not released any further comments on the incident. Trump described the strike as hitting a facility at the docks where ships load drugs, stating it was knocked out. He also referenced hitting both the boats' area and the implementation area.
A video from December 24 purportedly shows an explosion in the San Francisco municipality in Zulia state, Venezuela; however, this footage has not been independently verified. An administration official indicated that Trump described the targeted site as a drug facility during his remarks. The Venezuelan government has so far not commented on the incident, and no independent reports have confirmed the strike.
If validated, this would mark the first land strike in Venezuela since the US intensified its military presence in the region. Currently, approximately 15,000 US personnel, along with assets including a carrier strike group, F-35 fighter jets, and Coast Guard cutters, are deployed to interdict drug traffickers and enforce maritime sanctions.
