Trump criticizes European leaders' response to Ukraine conflict and migration issues
Former President Donald Trump criticized European leaders as weak during a recent Politico interview, suggesting that the US could reduce its support for Ukraine. He described Europe as "decaying," accusing it of failing to control migration and to decisively end the Ukraine-Russia war, stating that Kyiv is "fighting until they drop." Trump argued that Russia holds the upper hand in the conflict and urged Ukrainian President Zelensky to cede territory to Moscow in order to negotiate terms.
In response, Downing Street in the UK rejected the claim of European inaction, highlighting the UK's leadership on sanctions and continued support for the US-led peace process. These remarks came shortly after the release of a 33-page National Security Strategy that warned of Europe's potential civilisational erasure and questioned whether some allies remain reliable.
