Trump Launches Freedom 250 to Celebrate United States' 250th Birthday in 2026
Former President Donald Trump announced Freedom 250, a public-private partnership designed to lead celebrations for the United States' 250th birthday in 2026. Freedom 250 will coordinate efforts with the White House Task Force 250, various federal departments, and the America250 Commission to plan nationwide events across all 50 states and internationally.
Keith Krach was named CEO of Freedom 250. Planned activities include the illumination of the Washington Monument from December 31 to January 5, a Great American State Fair on the National Mall from June 25 to July 10, 2026, and the Patriot Games—a four-day athletic event in the fall featuring one top high school athlete from each state and territory. Additionally, a White House UFC event hosted by Dana White is scheduled for Flag Day on June 14, with Ivanka Trump helping to facilitate it.
The Freedom 250 website offers toolkits for teachers, state fairs, and rodeos. A Freedom Tour will also visit all 50 states in the order they joined the union, with cabinet officials visiting schools across the country.
This initiative follows 2025 actions such as the formation of the White House Task Force 250 by executive order, the revival of the 1776 Commission, and a significant funding package for birthday-related efforts. Past anniversary activities include a June 14, 2025, Army parade in Washington, D.C., commemorating the Army's 250th anniversary.
