Trump Media and Technology Group Reshuffles 2,000 BTC Following Recent Bitcoin Purchases
Trump Media and Technology Group moved about 2,000 BTC, valued at approximately $174 million, across multiple wallets one day after increasing its bitcoin holdings to 11,542 BTC. Around $12 million of these transfers were sent to Coinbase Prime Custody, while the remainder stayed in wallets linked to the same entity, indicating a reserve reshuffle rather than an outright sale.
The transfers suggest the company is organizing its treasury or reorganizing custody arrangements, possibly consolidating cold storage or rebalancing wallets. This activity comes shortly after Lookonchain reported Trump Media had purchased 451 BTC the previous day, implying active management of its bitcoin position.
Bitcoin's price showed little reaction to these moves, trading near $86,000 to $87,000 over the past 24 hours amid softer overall market sentiment. Meanwhile, Trump Media's equity rose more than 30% over the past five trading days, trading around $14, driven by renewed attention on financial products and digital assets.
Corporate holders often move assets between wallets for operational reasons following new purchases, policy changes, or custodial transitions, which appears to be the case here.
