Trump Warns Iran of Renewed Military Action Over Nuclear and Missile Programs
At Mar-a-Lago, during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former President Donald Trump warned that Iran would face renewed military action if it restarts or expands its missile or nuclear programs. Trump claimed that the U.S. and Israel had already destroyed Iran's nuclear program and cautioned that Tehran would be knocked down if it attempts to rebuild.
He stated he would support additional Israeli military action should Iran continue its development of missiles or nuclear capabilities. Trump also noted Iran's domestic economic distress, including record-low currency value and inflation, but declined to comment on the possibility of regime overthrow, citing internal unrest within Iran.
A report from Iran International alleged that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is accelerating work on unconventional missile payloads, including chemical and biological options, although Tehran denies pursuing chemical or biological weapons. Behnam Taleblu of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies linked potential chemical threats to Iran’s past use of chemical weapons during the Iran-Iraq War and its current capabilities to carry such payloads.
Furthermore, a Maxar satellite image showed damage to the Fordo enrichment facility in Iran following U.S. strikes on June 22, 2025, providing context for the ongoing tensions between the involved countries.
