Two Georgia Freshmen Football Players Arrested on Shoplifting Charges Ahead of College Football Playoff
Two Georgia freshmen football players, running back Bo Walker and offensive lineman Dontrell Glover, were arrested in Athens, Georgia on Friday on misdemeanor shoplifting charges. Both players were released hours later after posting a $26 bond each.
The arrests come just weeks prior to Georgia's upcoming College Football Playoff appearance, though the team’s playoff status was not confirmed at the time of the report. A university spokesperson stated they have been informed of the charges and are gathering additional information, describing the matter as pending legal proceedings and offering no further comment.
Bo Walker concluded the 2025 regular season with 22 carries for 100 rushing yards and three touchdowns across six games. Dontrell Glover participated in 13 games and earned All-SEC freshman-team honors during the season.
The report also referenced a previous incident involving former Georgia lineman Nyier Daniels, who was dismissed from the team after a high-speed police chase. The chase reportedly involved speeds reaching 100 mph in a 25-mph zone and 150 mph on I-85, with charges including fleeing or eluding and cruelty to children.
Looking ahead, Georgia is scheduled to face the winner of the Ole Miss versus Tulane matchup in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day.
