USC women's basketball coach Lindsay Gottlieb, an alumna of Brown University, linked the tragic incident to the broader issue of gun violence during her remarks at a postgame press conference. Gottlieb spoke following USC's 79-51 loss to UConn in the NCAA tournament.
Since taking over as USC's head coach in the 2021-22 season, Gottlieb has amassed a 100-39 record. Prior to USC, she coached at UC Santa Barbara and California.
