West Ham Agree Deals to Sign Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos in £47m Move
West Ham have agreed deals to sign Gil Vicente's Pablo Felipe and Lazio's Taty Castellanos in moves worth up to £47 million.
The deal for Pablo Felipe, a 21-year-old Brazilian forward who has scored nine goals this season for Gil Vicente, is valued at £18.3 million plus £2.6 million in add-ons. Felipe could potentially acquire Portuguese citizenship. Taty Castellanos, a 27-year-old forward with two goals in 12 appearances for Lazio this season, has joined West Ham for around £26.1 million after moving to Lazio from New York City in 2023.
These acquisitions are driven by West Ham manager Nuno Espírito Santo's aim to bolster his attack as the club sits 18th in the league and is short of strikers. Nuno, who is represented by agent Jorge Mendes, prioritizes strengthening the forward line.
Earlier, West Ham's £40 million bid for Jørgen Strand Larsen was rejected due to the high valuation. Meanwhile, the club is pursuing a short-term deal for Adama Traoré, although their loan bid for Raheem Sterling failed, with Fulham being the favorites to sign Sterling.
Besides attacking reinforcements, West Ham are prioritizing signing a centre-back, showing interest in Charlie Cresswell. They are also selling Luis Guilherme to Sporting for £14.8 million. Potential departures from the squad include James Ward-Prowse, George Earthy, Callum Marshall, and Guido Rodríguez.
