Woman Charged with Murder Following Fatal Melbourne House Fire

A 29-year-old woman has been charged with murder and attempted murder after a fatal house fire in Clyde North, located about 46km south-east of Melbourne CBD. The fire occurred around 1:45 am on 18 December at a property on Sunburnt Circuit.

Two men, aged 46 and 44, were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 44-year-old man died on the same day, while the 46-year-old man remains in hospital in stable condition. A woman was hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.

Inside the property, a 43-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl were unharmed.

The suspect was hospitalised under police guard and remanded in custody. She is due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Saturday. Police have indicated that the parties involved are believed to be known to each other.
