Yuv Secures $12 Million Series A Funding to Expand Smart Hair Colour Lab Globally
Yuv, the company behind the world's first smart hair colour lab system known as yuv Lab, has announced a $12 million Series A funding round led by Sweden-headquartered Nineyards Equity. This follows earlier backing from the Dragons' Den show, where investors Steven Bartlett and Sara Davies each invested £250,000 at a £25 million valuation—a record amount for a startup pitched on the programme.
Francisco Gimenez, Yuv's founder, also participated in this latest funding round alongside existing investors. The yuv Lab system features a dispensing platform that uses refillable aluminium cartridges, aiming to reduce waste while enabling precise colour formulations. Eric Sävendahl of Nineyards Equity, which joined forces with VNV Global and investor networks in the round, emphasized the focus on transforming professional hair colour through innovation in sustainability, design, and technology.
The fresh capital will accelerate the company's growth within the UK and prepare for its planned expansion into the US market next year. This move is situated within a broader industry context where the global salon hair care services market is expected to grow from $204 billion in 2024 to approximately $342 billion by 2032.
